Student tutors are nominated by faculty to offer support for their peers in nearly every subject taught at the College, and coaching for better work habits and study skills. The Higgins Academic Center selects and trains tutors, who are nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Tutoring is available for nearly all subjects taught at the College, and is FREE to all RMC students.
Randolph-Macon’s Office of Accessibility Resources assists students who qualify with identifying and obtaining reasonable accommodations to provide access and support students’ academics.
Supporting critical skills for class and life, the tutor staff in Academic Writing & Speaking provide students with peer writing and oral communication support. Writing Tutors can help students with their writing at any stage of the process and in any discipline. Speaking Tutors assist students with planning, putting together, and delivering speeches, presentations, and other forms of oral communication.
The library is our academic hub, where we advance knowledge, spark creativity, and connect communities. Search collections; try out the Makerspace; access books, laptops, and more. Our librarians are here to help you unlock new ideas and succeed in your courses.
The Office of the Registrar maintains the official academic records for current and former students. The office publishes the academic catalog; coordinates registration; produces the final exam schedule; handles all corrections to student data; verifies enrollment and degrees; processes transcript requests; and prepares and mails diplomas.
The Office of the Provost supervises academic departments, and all academic support functions of the College. The Provost is the College’s Chief Academic Officer, and the arbiter of many of the policies and practices that govern our academic life and support the work of our talented faculty.
