Randolph-Macon Professors Earn Tenure and Promotion

Randolph-Macon College President Robert R. Lindgren is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees recently voted to approve the tenure and promotion status of several faculty members.

The following faculty members were granted tenure and promotion to associate professor:

Valentine Balguerie (modern languages – French) joined the faculty in 2017. She earned her maitrise from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3, her M.A. from University of Illinois at Chicago, and her Ph.D. from Brown University.

Laura Jo-han Wen (Asian studies) joined the faculty in 2017. She earned her B.A. from National Taiwan University, an M.A. from National Chengchi University, an M.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The following faculty members were promoted to full professor:

Rachele Dominguez (physics, engineering, and astrophysics) joined the faculty in 2011. She earned her B.S. from College of William and Mary, her M.S. from University of Washington, and her Ph.D. from Boston University.

Mine Eren (modern languages – German) joined the faculty in 2002. She earned an M.A. from Ludwig-Maximilian Universität, an M.A. from Brown University, and her Ph.D. from Brown University.

The following faculty member was promoted to senior lecturer:

La Toria H. Tookes (computer science) joined the faculty in 2017. She earned her B.S. from Georgia Southwestern State University and both her M.S. and Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University.

The following faculty members were conveyed to the rank of professor emeritus:

Elizabeth A. Fisher (classical studies and archaeology) joined the faculty in 1987. She earned her B.A. from College of William and Mary, her M.A. from Florida State University, and her Ph.D. from University of Minnesota.

Amy W. Goodwin (English) joined the faculty in 1990. She earned her B.A. from Allegheny College, her M.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University, and her Ph.D. from Ohio State University.

Maria M. Scott (English) joined the faculty in 1992. She earned her B.A. from UCLA, an A.A. from the American Academy of Dramatic Art, and both her M.A. and Ph.D. from University of Chicago.

The following faculty members were conveyed to the rank of Stavros Niarchos Foundation Professor Emeritus:

John Camp (classical studies and archaeology) joined the faculty in 1996. He earned his B.A. from Harvard University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University.
