U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT
Randolph-Macon College moved up in the U.S. News & World Report rankings to #102 as one of the best national liberal arts colleges. RMC has continued to rise in the rankings for the last five years in a row reflecting consistent improvement in a number of major areas including retention. Other significant recognition is noted in the following lists:

#67 – Best-Value Schools, National Liberal Arts Colleges

This addresses the proportion of need-based aid awarded in the form of grants and scholarships and speaks to RMC’s quality education and affordability.

#40 – A+ Schools for B Students

Schools on this list had to be ranked in the top three-fourths of the overall 2021 Best Colleges rankings in their categories. Data for this list was based on 2019 admissions information and is an indicator of the high retention rates for admitted students with less than a straight-A average.

PRINCETON REVIEW
Once again, RMC was ranked as one of the best colleges in the nation in the Princeton Review’s Best 385 Colleges. Based on responses from student surveys, the college was acknowledged on the following lists:

#13 – Best Career Services (up from #17 in 2020)

This category reflects student ratings of their school’s career and job placement services. RMC’s EDGE Career Center integrates critical transferable skills with every student experience. With support from extraordinary faculty and dedicated staff, and immersion in RMC’s popular Boot Camp program, students acquire a competitive advantage in reaching their career or graduate school goals.

#20 – Best Science Lab Facilities

RMC facilities support the college’s stellar STEM programs. Its newest science building, Brock Hall, includes 27,000 square feet of state-of-the-art research and innovative teaching laboratories, and is designed to support collaborative, integrated lab and lecture learning to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.

What Students Say

In their own words, RMC students who responded to the Princeton Review’s survey had this to say:

“Everyone from the professors, to the other students, to the staff, … care about each student.” “Those lucky enough to attend have the privilege of creating the education experience they want.”

“If you want to be an athlete, a triple major, and study abroad three times, you can do that!”

“The student faculty ratio is roughly 11:1, and last year there were barely any classes over 30. That makes it rather easy to get to know professors and … build relationships with them.”

“Of course, it doesn’t hurt that professors at RMC genuinely care about your success.”

“We are a tight community that works to support each other no matter if you are an athlete, a member of theater, or a part of any other organization on campus.”

“I have met some of the best people here and have definitely found lifelong friends.”
