Korey Turner ’20

Major: Business with Concentration in Finance
After Graduation: Investment Analyst at Virginia Retirement System

How did the Edge help you?
“The Edge helped me prepare for life after college. After my freshman year, I began to take advantage of the great resources the Edge had to offer by meeting several times with Cathy Rollman and speaking to other Edge Career Center professionals to create a resume that would catch the eye of employers looking to offer internships to current students. The development and professional preparation the Edge provided during my time at Randolph-Macon College allowed me to land a great job in my dream field.”

RMC alumnus Austin Fortier poses for a headshot during the Edge Boot Camp

Austin Fortier ’20

Majors: Religious Studies and Spanish
After Graduation: Regional Sales Executive at ePac Flexible Packaging

How did the Edge help you?
“The Edge helped me while at RMC by providing career and internship fairs. It was through them that I got the internship that led to my job. Everyone at the Edge helped coach me through interviews and helped refine my resume/story. Without the Edge and the programs they supply to students I would not be in the position I am today. I recommend all students to start early and get to know those at the Edge because it will produce many benefits down the road.”

RMC alumna Madeleine Purcell poses for a headshot in a lab coat.

Madeleine Purcell ’19

Major: Biology
After Graduation: University of Maryland School of Medicine

How did the Edge help you?
“The Edge helped me solidify my passion for medicine. Through the help of Josh and the Edge, I was able to get an internship where I was able to shadow throughout many different fields of the hospital and gain valuable time with attending physicians and patients. I was also able to secure a job as a scribe through the Edge, which helped me learn medical terminology and prepare for medical school. Through the Edge, I also met my research mentor, Dr. Jim Foster. Working with Dr. Foster, I was able to gain valuable skills in lab, as well as publish in PLOS Genetics. In medical school, I have continued with research and have been fortunate enough to be published in Nature Medicine. I would not have been able to get into medical school or succeed in medical school without the help of the Edge!”
