RMC Pride Alliance is an organization of people who have a common interest in promoting awareness, respect, and acceptance of gender and sexual minorities on campus and within the greater community.
Randolph-Macon College departments are now able to show their support of the LGBTQIA+ community by becoming a pride partner. Simply fill out the Yellow Jacket Pride Partner Application. The Student Engagement Center will review your application and contact you to discuss the partnership.
The Student Engagement Center hosts an online Discord channel that allows the LGBTQIA+ community at Randolph-Macon College to connect with one another. For an invitation and a list of community guidelines, contact studentlife@rmc.edu.
The Student Engagement Center offers workshops for faculty, staff, and student leaders designed to help them become more sensitive and informed allies for the LGBTQIA+ community. At the completion of the workshop, participants will be offered the opportunity to sign a pledge agreeing to advance the Safe Zone mission and may receive a Safe Zone sticker to place in their workplace or where they live on campus, or a Safe Zone button, perfect for a jacket or backpack. Also, faculty, staff and student leaders may engage in advanced training and become certified to train others to be Safe Zone Allies.
What Does the Sticker Mean?
The display of the Safe Zone sticker or button means that the owner has attended a Safe Zone workshop and signed an agreement to be supportive and affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community. It does not mean that the owner identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, nor should it be inferred that those without Safe Zone stickers are unsupportive.

The Student Engagement Center recognizes that all students desire and should have safe and comfortable living environments. our Residence Life team recognizes that gender identity and/or expression is not binary in nature as well.
LGBTQIA+ students should contact Residence Life in the Student Engagement Center to discuss a supportive living arrangement in the residence halls. We are committed to working with every student to find appropriate accommodations. Housing assignments are guided by the following values:

The Student Health Center and the Counseling Center / UWill are committed to providing LGBTQIA+ community members with affirming health care and advice. The Office of the Chaplain is also available for pastoral care.

Students, faculty, or staff members may report a bias incident by completing the online form, by communicating directly with a member of the Bias Response Team who will complete the Bias Incident Reporting Form with the information provided, or by communicating with a College Ombudsperson who will complete the form with the information provided.
