We get it! Even a small college can be tough to navigate. Here are our answers to the perennial question, “Where do I go for”…
Where Do I Go For…
Subject Tutoring
Our tutors are trained, faculty-recommended tutors, and achieve international certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), who offer assistance in most subject areas and are available during specified drop-in hours or by appointment. Students can find updated schedules on the Higgins Academic Center (HAC) web page and also schedule appointments online.
Benefits of enrolling in tutoring include:
- Provides a unique and individualized learning experience
- Increases good study habits
- Improves academic performance, retention, and personal growth
- Encourages higher level of thinking
- Helps you become an independent learner
- Puts you in charge of your own learning process
- Improves your critical thinking skills through sharing and connecting topics, ideas, and assignments between classes
- Supports in-class learning
Academic Speaking and Writing
Part of the HAC, Academic Writing and Speaking (formerly called the Communication Center) provides students with peer writing and speaking support. The office, located on the first floor of McGraw-Page Library, offers practice spaces and one-on-one or group consultations and feedback for writing and oral communication/presentation assignments.
Disability Services
Disability Services coordinates accommodations for students with disabilities so they may take full advantage of the College’s educational, residential, social, and cultural opportunities. The office is located in the HAC offices inside the McGraw-Page Library.
Study Abroad

In today’s interconnected and interdependent world, the Office of International Education (OIE) facilitates connections between RMC and the global community. Whether you venture far from home or seek out intercultural learning here on campus, the OIE encourages you to challenge yourself in new ways. Randolph-Macon College students have myriad opportunities to study abroad and experience countries and cultures other than their own. You can find the Office of International Education in the center of Haley Hall.
