Standardized Tests Optional for RMC Admission in 2021-22

Randolph-Macon College will continue test-optional admissions for students applying for the fall 2022 entry term. Current high school juniors planning to apply next academic year will not be required to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of their undergraduate applications.

“Last summer we shifted to test-optional admissions for the 2021graduating class due to testing disruptions because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those disruptions and challenges persist for the 2022 class, so we will continue our pilot study of test optional admissions for another admissions cycle,” said RMC Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, David Lesesne. “Test-optional admissions has broadened our application pool and we look forward to working with another great group of applicants in the upcoming admissions cycle.”

Randolph-Macon will continue to accept test scores from applicants who choose to submit them as part of the College’s holistic review of applications, but they are not required. The College will continue to consider every aspect of an applicant’s high school experience, focusing on academic preparation as well as opportunities that have been taken advantage of outside of the classroom.

Requirements for the 2021-2022 application are:

  • a completed RMC application or Common Application
  • an official high school transcript
  • one letter of recommendation
  • Note: International applicants may need to submit English Language proficiency testing depending on the language of instruction of their secondary schooling.

Applications for admissions for the fall 2022 entry term can be submitted in August of 2021.
