Dr. Hill Announces Promotions in Office of the President
Randolph-Macon College President Dr. Michael E. Hill is pleased to announce the promotion of team members in the Office of the President, reflecting his vision for a well-run and connected college administration, as well as his confidence in the team members who support the office’s operations.
Dr. John McManus ‘84 will serve in an expanded role in College leadership as Vice President & Chief of Staff. This promotion conveys the exceptional work that McManus has done in the President’s Office, which he joined in March 2024. During that time, he had played a pivotal role in consequential projects like strategic planning, as well as the College’s search for and transition to new leadership under President Hill. His expanded duties primarily focus on significant cross-divisional projects he will undertake on President Hill’s behalf. In this role, McManus will supervise Laura Soulsby, Director of Title IX and ADA Coordinator, and Carter Walton, Special Assistant to the President. Dr. McManus will continue to teach in the Department of Computer Science.
Emily Harrison will now assume the title of Executive Assistant to the President, befitting her work supporting the President’s Office in its day-to-day operations, as well as serving in her role as the Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
