Coordinator of Residence Life Awarded VASPA Award

On November 17, 2016, The Virginia Association of School Personnel Administrators (VASPA) and the Virginia Association of College & University Housing Officers (VACUHO) presented awards to a Randolph-Macon College staff member during the annual Virginia Student Services Conference in Wintergreen, Virginia.

Carol Bailey, coordinator of residence life, was awarded the VASPA Outstanding Professional Award. The award honors student affairs professionals who are vitally concerned with students, relate well to them and have their respect and confidence. In addition, the winners demonstrate exceptional judgment and creativity in addressing current issues and problems and are active leaders and effective administrators on their campuses.

“I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude that I was nominated and selected for this prestigious award from my colleagues at Randolph-Macon College and across the Commonwealth of Virginia,” says Bailey. “I am forever thankful to have the opportunity and privilege to work with our students in achieving their personal growth and educational goals.”

Bailey, who joined the staff at RMC in 2003, was presented a Yellow Jacket Excellence in Service Award in 2012. The award is given to an employee who provides excellent service to students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni, or visitors.
