High school musicians are invited to schedule auditions for or apply below to be considered for a musical ensemble participation scholarship. Open to all majors, these scholarships honor your commitment to making music while you’re at RMC.

about our Audition Days
Come for an audition. Stay for much more, including opportunities to connect with the Randolph-Macon College faculty and students to learn more about the ensembles and the music program overall. Tour campus (and especially the brand-new Center for the Performing Arts) and enjoy a free lunch with student musicians. And if you’re interested in technical production or acting at RMC, you can learn more about our theatre program as well!

instrumental scholarship eligibility
Macon Music Instrumental Scholarships available for participation in Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Improvisation Laboratory for the following musicians:
- Flute/Piccolo
- Oboe/English Horn
- Clarinet/Bass Clarinet
- Bassoon
- Saxophone (Alto/Tenor/Bari)
- Trumpet
- Horn
- Trombone
- Euphonium

choral scholarship eligibility
Macon Music Choral Scholarships available for participation in Concert Choir (MUSC 310) and Chamber Singers (MUSC 311) for the following musicians:
- Voice (all voice parts)
- Piano (as singers or pianists)
- Guitar (as singers or guitarists)
- Bass Guitar (as singers or bassists)
Pianists and guitarists will be assigned according to interest and at the discretion of the ensemble conductors.
show choir/band scholarships
Show Choir is an extracurricular music ensemble, featuring a high-energy cast and a show band. You can audition for show choir or show band as well on December 9; other show choir auditions are offered on alternate days. Learn more about show choir scholarship auditions, via Director Adam Pulver.
In-Person Auditions
Here’s the process for an in-person audition on one of our pre-scheduled audition days. If you don’t see a date that works for you, reach out and we’ll set up a time that works for you.
Vocalists:
- Introduce yourself – tell us about your musical interests, singing experiences, and any ensembles that you currently sing with or have in the past.
- Perform two contrasting vocal works that show off your musicianship and skill as a singer.
Instrumentalists:
- Introduce yourself – tell us about your musical interests, playing experiences, and any ensembles that you currently play with or have in the past.
- Perform two scales of your choice.
- Perform two contrasting musical examples that show off your musicianship and skill as a player. These may be etudes, excerpts, or any other pertinent musical example.
Virtual Auditions
While we’d love to meet you in person, we do accept virtual auditions. Record & upload an unlisted YouTube video (or another similar cloud-based video sharing site) and send them to the appropriate Music professor:

Your video does not need to be one continuous take – you may record each portion of your audition individually and then splice them together into your full video, or you may upload several videos, one for each segment. If you upload multiple videos, be sure to send links to everything!
