welcome new yellow jacket!

We’re excited to welcome you to Randolph-Macon, and can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish once you’re here!

Your New Student Checklist will be a valuable resource as you prepare for the fall semester. In addition to the steps outlined in your checklist, this page lists important information just for new international students.

Arrival & Orientation Information

To attend the mandatory New International Student Orientation prior to classes beginning on September 1, 2025, you are expected to arrive in Ashland on August 25, 2025. You should arrive no earlier or later than this date. This orientation, which is required for ALL new exchange and four-year international students, will be held in-person upon your arrival on campus.

The Richmond area is served by several major airlines at the Richmond International Airport (Airport Code: RIC) including American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United. If possible, please choose a flight that arrives at RIC before 5pm on August 25.

The OIE will arrange pick-up at RIC on your official arrival day and for your first arrival only. To request a pick-up, please send the OIE your full itinerary (flight numbers for international and domestic AND arrival time at RIC) by Monday, August 11. We cannot guarantee transportation for itineraries received after this date. You will need to make your own travel arrangements if you plan to fly into the Washington, DC area. This helpful website provides train and bus information.

International Student Next Steps

Review the International Student Handbook

Review the  International Student Handbook online, which has a lot of helpful information and may answer some of your pre-arrival questions.

Check your RMC email account

Log into your RMC email account! After depositing, you will receive (or may have already received) an email titled: ‘Set up your RMC email account today!’ This message will walk you through the process of setting up your RMC credentials. You will need to do this before you can complete your New Student Forms.

Once you have followed the steps listed in that email, use your login information (username and password) to access both your MyMaconWeb and RMC email accounts. Please take care of this as soon as possible so you can access this vital information. CHECK YOUR RMC EMAIL REGULARLY as the College will send you essential information to that address!

Complete your New Student Forms

You’ll access your New Student Forms through MyMaconWeb (MMW). Refer to this section of the New Student Checklist for important information about each form.

Forms to look for include but are not limited to: Student Information, Residence Life Housing and Meal Plan Selection, Disability Services Disclosure, Health History Record, and Vehicle Registration/Waiver. Below you’ll find some important reminders for international students.

  • Don’t forget to waive the vehicle registration fee if you will not have a car on campus!
  • Select 19 meal plan.
  • [IMPORTANT!] You must have the Health History Record signed by your health care provider while you are still in your home country. Access the student health portal to fill out three electronic forms AND upload your provider signed Immunization Record to complete your Health History Record by August 1, 2025. Bring the original with you to campus. Obtaining the immunization history, receiving required immunizations, and the health care provider verification will take more time than you imagine, so start working on it as soon as possible!
  • New students must complete the required immunizations prior to arriving at RMC for the fall. If you are unable to receive the required immunizations by August 1, we may have to defer your enrollment to a later semester after you have received the required shots.
Review the Course Registration Process for International Students

Read the Course Registration Process for New International Students document to understand the process for your registration period. Your academic advisor looks forward to working with you!

Sign the New International Student Agreement

Please sign and submit the New International Student Agreement online by August 11, 2025. You will need to sign in with your RMC email address and password to access this form.
