Virginia General Assembly Resolution Commends President Lindgren

A joint resolution of the 2025 session of the Virginia General Assembly commends Randolph-Macon President Robert R. Lindgren on his distinguished career, detailing the many achievements of his long service in higher education and recognizing his upcoming retirement.
The celebratory resolution, which passed the House of Delegates and then the Virginia Senate in February, was officially enrolled in March, and presented to President Lindgren at a gathering of the Council on Independent Colleges Virginia (CICV) and the State Council Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV) this week.
HJR No. 610 was shepherded through the House by Rep. Buddy Fowler (R-Hanover), who was joined by dozens of colleagues in sponsoring the resolution. Fowler read the full resolution to the assembled CICV and SCHEV attendees, which includes college presidents from across the state of Virginia. He thanked President Lindgren for his many years of partnership and service to the region.
The resolution’s text notes nearly a dozen areas in which President Lindgren earned acclaim, and states “Be it resolved by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, that the General Assembly hereby commend Robert R. Lindgren, president of Randolph-Macon College, on the occasion of his retirement.”
