The Renovated Estes Dining servery features a modern cafeteria with a central serving island, where people line up to select their food. The bright lighting, white brick walls, and wooden accents create an inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for the 2024-2025 dining experience.

In conjunction with Parkhurst Dining, English Construction, and EDC, Randolph-Macon has completed renovations on Estes Dining Hall in time for the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The upgrades are designed to improve the dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors with increased cooking visibility and a spacious servery layout to enable streamlined queuing.

In addition to a fresh, modern look, the new layout features an expanded “Inspired Eats” area for allergen friendly options. It also has an expanded salad bar and Mediterranean salad/rice bowl station called “Terra”, as well as favorites like pizza, pasta, a grill with rotating entrée options, a new rotisserie, and a dessert nook.

“Having an open cooking space will create a more engaging and enjoyable experience for diners, allowing them to witness the cooking process and see the care that goes into their meals,” said Lisa Schwarz, General Manager for Parkhurst Dining at Randolph-Macon.

A ribbon cutting on September 2 celebrated the new space. These renovations are the third phase of upgrades to Estes, following the relocation and installation of a new dish machine, and the addition and renovation of dining space.

The RMC community gathered to officially open the new Estes Dining facility after it under went renovations during the summer of 2024. The serving and cooking spaces have been renovated.
