Move-in is in full swing as 384 new incoming students arrive on Randolph-Macon’s campus for a week of activities designed to help them transition into college life and connect with the RMC community. 

Members of RMC’s Class of 2025 kicked off move-in week on Thursday, September 2. The day marks the beginning of Welcome Week, four days filled with opportunities for Yellow Jackets to bond with their Captains—year-long sources of support for new students at RMC—and Crews, or small groups of students who share the same Captain. Sophomores move in next on Saturday, September 4, while upperclassmen arrive the following day on Sunday, September 5.

Between ice cream socials, college success workshops, field games, outdoor movies, and a high-energy SEAWORTHY adventure, RMC students will have plenty of opportunities to get out, get active, and get to know their fellow Yellow Jackets before the start of classes on Monday, September 6. 

New students will also partake in several campus traditions over the course of the weekend, including the signing of the Four-Year Degree Guarantee and Matriculation. Signing the Four-Year Degree Guarantee affirms that students who meet all necessary requirements will graduate within four years, or the College will waive tuition costs for any RMC courses needed to complete the degree. Matriculation, one of the longest-standing RMC traditions, will take place Sunday, September 5. President Lindgren, along with faculty and staff, will welcome the Class of 2025 as they officially join the campus community upon reciting the Matriculation oath.
