RMC Names New Executive Assistant to the President
Randolph-Macon College welcomes a new, but familiar face to the President’s Office in the role of Executive Assistant to the President. Tim Bullis, alumnus and current RMC parent, will provide executive strategic leadership and communication guidance to the President, represent the College with a variety of state and local constituencies, and help set the agenda for the Cabinet on which he will serve.
Bullis joins the College after 15 years as a key member of the leadership team at Chesterfield County Public Schools, one of the nation’s 70 largest school systems. He led the communications and community engagement team in Chesterfield and served as a key leader on the superintendent’s Executive team. Among his many roles at CCPS, he worked closely with the elected School Board, and helped develop and implement the school system’s strategic, communications and engagement plans. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Management for the Midlothian Family YMCA, and chair of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield.
Bullis will rely on a deep and authentic understanding of what it means to be a Yellow Jacket. He graduated in 1993 as a political science major, with a minor in journalism. His wife, Andrea, graduated in 1997, and his daughter, Tori, is a psychology major who plans to graduate in ’23. His grandfather and uncle also graduated from RMC, making him the third of four generations of Yellow Jackets.
“Tim was universally described to me as highly strategic, unflappable, and the absolute go-to person in the Chesterfield Schools administration if someone needed something done, done on time, and done well,” President Lindgren said.
“I look forward to returning to my alma mater to serve and support the President and the College as we further our mission to develop the mind and the character of our students,” Bullis said. “As an alumnus and an RMC parent who has been involved in education for nearly two decades, I hope bring a variety of lenses through which to look as we think strategically about the future and how Randolph-Macon College can continue to thrive, flourish and become an even stronger institution.”
Bullis began in his role on May 17.
