RMC Welcomes Freshmen to Campus – College Breaks Freshman and Overall Enrollment Records

Randolph-Macon College welcomes an overall historic enrollment of nearly 1,600 students to campus for fall 2020. Of the 474 new students, 444 are freshmen – the college’s largest freshman class ever—and 30 transfer students.

Members of the class of 2024 began moving in on August 22, filling the campus with renewed energy as RMC prepared for the start of classes on Monday, August 24th.   The students arrived in shifts designed to allow for safe social distancing at every step of the process.

This class represents 19 states and seven foreign countries. In addition, 24 percent are ethnically diverse. Many are Presidential Scholars, recipients of RMC’s signature scholarship that recognizes students who demonstrate the highest levels of academic achievement and leadership. 34 percent of this year’s freshman class were referred by a friend of RMC’s Refer a Yellow Jacket program.
