New Nunnally Field Dedicated
It’s a great day to be a Yellow Jacket, especially for the Randolph-Macon College Athletics Department. Today, the RMC community gathered to celebrate the dedication of the newly renovated Nunnally Field.
Nunnally Field now boasts a state-of-the-art field turf facility designed specifically for the field hockey, women’s soccer, and men’s soccer teams. Additional renovations include the installation of double-sided stands, a new press box and sound system, updated storage areas for sports equipment, and a state-of-the-art scoreboard that has campus buzzing with excitement.
The Nunnally Field updates not only have been a great addition to the teams that use the facility, but they also benefit the entire Randolph-Macon athletics program. Now, sports teams can host events and practices without worrying about scheduling conflicts with other programs. This flexibility helps distinguish Randolph-Macon from other Division III institutions and will assist greatly in the College’s athletic recruiting efforts.
“Overall, I think it’s a great moment for the many people who came before us, the alums that have worked so hard, the parents, and the Nunnally family,” said Field Hockey Head Coach Jessica Weiss. “And, of course, we cannot go a day without thanking the RMC Administration for everything they’ve done to make this happen. We know that this is an incredible day for the entire department, and we’re really happy to celebrate it.”
