January Update on Presidential Search

The following message was shared with the community on January 13, 2025, from Dave Meleski ’81, Chair of the Presidential Search committee. Similar messages were shared with students, faculty, and staff.

Dear Alumni and Friends,

I am reaching out today with a brief process update on our president search, which has been extremely busy behind the scenes during this winter season.

I am pleased to report that RMC has a strong and diverse pool of candidates, and I am very grateful to the search committee for their ongoing work in narrowing our selections. Very soon, we intend to select up to three finalists and invite those finalists to campus.

I am currently working with members of RMC staff to set up several confidential conversations between the finalists and several important constituent groups, like members of the Board, faculty, and students. We want to give these prospective leaders a confidential process while also meeting their strong desire to get to know our Randolph-Macon community. Our search committee is eager to capture feedback from those who meet the finalists, in addition to the extensive interviews that we will conduct ourselves.

We will continue to provide updates on the webpage created specifically for the Presidential Search process. You can find the page here: Presidential Search – Randolph-Macon College (rmc.edu)

In short, I remain optimistic that we are on the verge of selecting a great new leader for Randolph-Macon. Thanks for your continued support of this process!
