Evening Exams from December 8 Rescheduled
Reminders from Dean Grant Azdell at 11 p.m. on December 9, 2025
Temperatures tonight are below freezing again but not as cold as last night. Be mindful of ice forming again and be safe.
We are on a normal exam schedule for Wednesday so use caution in the morning, as you make your way around campus or during your commute.
Temperatures will rise quickly tomorrow to around 48, so more melting and drying will occur. Please pay attention near entrances to buildings as ice and snow can slide off roofs as we warm up.
Update from the ERT at 8:35 a.m. of December 9, 2025
Dear RMC Community,
Our Physical Plant teams are busy on campus this morning working to melt and clear snow. Please stay clear of their equipment, and thank them when you see them. Conditions are slick in spots so use caution, especially on elevated surfaces or near entrances.
At this time, we remain on track for a 10:30 start to the day. Our partners across the region tell us that highways and major roads are clear, but some slick spots remain. This is also true on campus. Please plan for extra time to get where you are going and use caution and good sense.
In general, in-person exams begin on the modified schedule we shared yesterday. Students should continue to follow any special instructions from your professors.
Non-essential staff should plan to start the in-person workday at 10:30 a.m., unless otherwise instructed by your supervisor. The Library and our dining facilities are open this morning, and the Brock Rec Center at 9 a.m. Other campus offices may be operating remotely, so if you are on campus, please call ahead to staff offices if you wish to visit those locations.
As always, we ask faculty and staff supervisors to be flexible as some members of our community may have different circumstances where they live. Please use your best judgement regarding your personal safety.
Physical Plant staff are actively working to clear sidewalks and entrances. Please stay clear of their equipment.
MONDAY December 8
Faculty have been advised to work with students to try to administer their afternoon exams as safely and expeditiously as possible. Students – thank you for your continued attention to your inbox. You may hear from faculty who are rescheduling your exams via email, including moving up the time to allow commuter students to return home as soon as possible tonight.
Exams scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight (Monday) have been re-scheduled for Wednesday evening at the same time and in the same rooms.

TUESDAY December 9
The College will plan to operate on a delayed schedule, Tuesday December 9 due to the possibility of freezing overnight.
Exams scheduled for 8:30 a.m. will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Please consult with your supervisor to determine if you can continue the workday remotely, or if you should report to work at 10:30 a.m.

As always, please be alert for slick areas and falling snow on campus. If you are commuting to or from campus, use your discretion regarding your own personal safety and notify your professor/supervisor, if you are delayed or unable to report.
