Nov. 19: Cambodian-American Heritage Dance Troupe

Randolph-Macon College will host a performance by the Cambodian-American Heritage Dance Troupe on November 19, 2016 at 7 p.m. in Blackwell Auditorium, RMC Center for the Performing Arts (205 Henry St). This event is free and open to the public. Map and Directions

Cambodian-American Heritage, Inc. is a non-profit organization, founded in 1980. The mission of the organization is the preservation of Cambodian arts and culture in the United States. The centerpiece of the organization’s cultural activities is its dance troupe and music ensemble. For almost 20 years, the troupe has performed selections from the repertoire of Cambodian classical and folk dances.

In recent years, the dance troupe and music ensemble have performed in a variety of settings including the 150th anniversary of the Smithsonian Institution, the National Gallery of Art, the Freer Gallery of Art, the American Red Cross, presidential inaugural events, and various folk art and heritage festivals.

This event is sponsored by the Asian Studies program, the Payne Visiting Artists Fund, the J. Earl Moreland Lecture Series, and the Committee on Assemblies and Special Events (CASE).
