Macon A Beeline Towards Medicine
Have you ever wanted to explore the medical field, whether closing up a patient or putting in stitches? Well, you can do exactly that without medical experience. Join the Pre-Health Society for an evening in a suture skills lab on November 7 at 10:00 PM in Brock Commons. If you are not aware of what a suture is, it is the medical term for stitches. The suture skills lab will be done with fake skin, forceps, needle holders, a butterfly probe, a probing rod, needles, gloves, and thread for whoever would like to practice putting sutures on. Before doing the suture lab, there will be a group instruction on how to properly handle the materials and everyone must sign a **CONSENT FORM** beforehand. The officers of the Pre-Health Society will be on hand to monitor techniques during the lab and to ensure proper techniques are being utilized.
**: With this Late Night Brock Event, because of the item of a needle, every individual who wishes to participate in the event MUST SIGN a consent form which states that you understand the risk you are taking in utilizing a needle. Due to this event requiring a consent form, you must RSVP for this event.
