Beyond First Vibe Real Talk: More than “Yes”—Consent, Agency, and Rewriting the “Hook-up” Script

A lot of what we hear about consent can feel either too simple or too legalistic. This workshop reframes affirmative consent as a skill set and a way to strengthen sexual agency—for yourself and with partners. We will explore why “going along with it” is not the same as an enthusiastic yes, practical ways to communicate desire and boundaries in the real-world, how hook-up culture can shape personal and your partners’ expectations, and ways small group conversations can start to shift those social norms.
