Adam J. Pulver (Mr. A)

proudly works with show choirs all across our nation, from California to Georgia, and thoroughly enjoys spreading the passion of show choir and performance to all who love the stage. Having had the opportunity to judge at numerous events, clinic various groups, and assist with the developmental side of show choir programs throughout the country, Adam thoroughly enjoys watching show choir programs grow and prosper in their unique and specialized directions.

Just as many have, Adam started his show choir journey in his beloved middle school team and continued throughout his high-school years. As a college student, Adam founded, developed, and directed a select few show choir programs at his alma mater. Following the completion of his Master’s degree, Adam accepted a position at McKendree University where he created and developed the institution’s first show choir program. Through his tenure at McKendree, Adam created a strong foundation for a superb collegiate show choir, consisting of exemplary student leadership, highly esteemed performances, and strong community appraisal including a proclamation as “The Official Ambassadors of Goodwill for the City of Lebanon”.

Adam Pulver is excited to be continuing his show choir journey at Randolph-Macon College where he is creating another astounding collegiate show choir opportunity for even more students seeking this experience. Bringing his energy and enthusiasm to the show choir community, Adam hopes to bring about more love for the arts, continued education for students across the nation and an invaluable support for music programs internationally.
In addition to serving his amazing students at Randolph-Macon College, Adam is also pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Learning with a Concentration in Music Education at the University of St. Thomas.

Tech Director

Amir Khozaei, MDA

wears many creative and technical hats in the Central Virginia Show Choir community, commonly in Midlothian, VA. He is proud to be the Technical Director for LUXE at Randolph Macon College and for the premier show choirs in surrounding Chesterfield schools. Throughout his years within the community, he has helped bring many unforgettable show experiences through a blend of technical prowess and creative innovation to cultivate and create amazing show experiences.

Stepping beyond the spotlight of show choir, Amir, armed with a Master’s Degree in Decision Analytics, assumes the role of Technology Specialist and Recruiter at Randolph-Macon College’s Office of Admissions. Here, he passionately guides and mentors students navigating the higher education journey, ensuring their success while managing integral operations and CRM systems at RMC. Simultaneously, Amir channels his creativity into his own venture, AHK Creatives, a dynamic creative agency dedicated to helping local businesses and groups thrive through professional design. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, Amir is excited to work for Randolph Macon to push the limit of innovation on the overall show choir experience.

Choreographers

Kellis McSparrin Oldenburg

is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher originally from Clinton, Mississippi. She got her start in the performing arts as a three-year singer/dancer in Clinton High School’s nationally-renowned Attache show choir. She continued her study of dance at the University of Southern Mississippi, and, in 2010, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2012. Kellis is a former adjunct instructor of dance at Belhaven University and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she taught modern, ballet, jazz and performance techniques, graduate pedagogy, online dance appreciation, and served as a faculty choreographer, rehearsal director and senior thesis advisor. teaching online Dance Appreciation. Kellis has taught at at several New Orleans area dance studios, specializing in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop and musical theatre techniques. She is also a certified yoga instructor and has orchestrated her own freelance choreography and teaching business for the past twelve years.

This past year, Kellis completed her 5th season with the Marigny Opera Ballet company, a contemporary ballet company based in New Orleans. During her 5 years with the company, she served as Rehearsal Director, choreographer and principal dancer. Three of the works that she created for MOB received awards for choreography from the New Orleans Gambit Tribute to the Classical Arts (outstanding short choreography- Tells, premiered in January 2018, outstanding full-length choreography- Follies of 1915, premiered November 2018, outstanding short choreography nominee- Sacred Harp, premiered December 2019).
Most recently, Kellis accepted a full-time Assistant Professorship in the Belhaven University Dance Department in Jackson, MS. Her life has come full-circle, bringing her back to her home state to pursue her love of teaching in higher education. Kellis and her husband Kirk are thrilled to be returning “home,” bringing with them their greatest gift: their first child, Ryder, who was born in December 2019.

Antavár Stinson

Born and raised in Auburn, AL, Antavar “Tay” Stinson found his passion for the arts through a number of choral experiences with an upbringing in gospel music from his local church. Growing up, he had exposure to a variety of performance venues, most notably the Grand Ole Opry, as a singer/dancer in his high school show choir, Auburn Varsity Singers. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the number 10 BSN program in the country. Antavar has traveled throughout the United States as a choreographer for several middle schools, high schools, and here at Randolph Macon College. He has received many accolades of Best Choreography, Best Show Design, Best Overall Effect, and Best Visuals.

In addition to his freelance Choreography, Tay also works as a Travel ICU Nurse throughout the country

Outside of being a nurse or choreographer, Tay enjoys cultivating new relationships, hiking, and trying culturally diverse foods. He is excited at every opportunity to not only empower students through the fine arts but to also bring positive life altering interventions to every patient he encounters in the Intensive Care Units. 

Farlanda Buchannon

Born and raised in Auburn, AL, Farlanda Buchannon found his love for the arts through vast choral experiences and the harmonious melodies of Southern gospel music in church. Growing up, he had exposure to various performance venues, most notably the Grand Ole Opry, as a singer/dancer in his high school show choir, Auburn Varsity Singers. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Voice.

Farlanda has traveled throughout the southern United States and beyond as a choreographer and vocal coach for several middle and high school show choirs, who have received many accolades of “Best Choreography” & “Best Visuals.”In addition to his freelance work, Farlanda serves as a conductor and resident choreographer for Uniting Voices Chicago ( formerly Chicago Children’s Choir) helping inspire and change the lives of youth from diverse backgrounds to become global leaders through music. He believes that teaching students from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds through diverse choral literature builds community and facilitates creativity. Outside of Uniting Voices Chicago, Farlanda enjoys traveling and meeting new creatives. He is thrilled at every opportunity to empower students through the fine arts, and is so thankful for all the directors, students, parents, administrators, and communities that support them!

Arranger

Robert H. Allen

is a native of Clinton, Mississippi where he is a music educator in the Clinton Public School District. Mr. Allen is in his 20th year as the Instrumental (Pit) Director for the Attaché Show Choir. In addition to show choir, he has also taught courses in music theory, music production, general music, jazz, and instrumental performance. Prior to Clinton, Mr. Allen was the Associate Director of Bands at Fairhope High School in Fairhope, AL where he directed the marching, concert, and jazz bands. Mr. Allen is a graduate of Mississippi College (B.M.Ed and Ed.S) and Auburn University (M.M.Ed).

During high school and college he performed with the DCI World Finalist Bluecoats and Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition to performing as a freelance trumpet player, he is currently in demand as an arranger/composer for many professional and educational ensembles across the country. His arrangements have been performed by choirs, bands, and orchestras from Mississippi, Alabama, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin, winning numerous awards for musical performance and show design. Robert has composed/orchestrated original music for documentary (Attaché directed by Melissa Overholt), musical comedy (The Loving Game, by T.J. Edwards) and short films (The Haunted Mirror and The Doll, directed by David Heavener). His feature film credits include Demimonde and Whispers on a Road, directed by Dorian Louis and Beast of Calvary Creek, directed by Tim Becker.
