Human Research Protection

Please follow the below steps:

Step 1: The Belmont Report

Please read the Belmont-Report, as it is the basis of the Randolph-Macon College Human Research protection program. Once you have read it, print the following CITI Training Instructions to obtain the official certification from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) website.

Step 2: Human Assurance Training

Go to the CITI website, which contains the Educational Courses. You must first “Register for the Course” as detailed in the printable instructions in Step 1. When you have your own username and password, select Randolph-Macon College as the institution.

Principal Investigators, co-Principal Investigators, Faculty Sponsor, and Research Assistants are all required to complete the basic course. The basic certification is valid for one year. Annually you will complete a refresher course. For further information and help with the certification, please contact the IRB Chair (April Marchetti).
