To be eligible for the Teacher Preparation Program (TPP), all education students must demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and submit a passing test score on the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA).

Certifications Required for Licensure

Applicants for VDOE Student Teaching must have successfully completed ALL of the following:

Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED Certification or training

NOTE: RMC’s PHED 105 – First Aid/CPR/AED meets the VDOE requirement.

Dyslexia Awareness Training

Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention Training

Behavior Intervention and Support Training

Cultural Competency Training
