Letter of Welcome from President Michael E. Hill

August 1, 2025

Dear Friends of RMC,

It is truly an honor to address you as Randolph-Macon’s 16th President. I take tremendous pride in assuming the mantle of this office and becoming part of a storied legacy at this historic institution.

Our mission is to develop mind and character. I believe wholeheartedly that character and ethical decision making are not lost tropes of yesteryear but vital ingredients to lead industry, society and to create the solutions of tomorrow. I have already met Randolph-Macon alumni who have done just that. And even in these early days of my presidency, I am inspired by our students who are so clearly prepared to harness the power of their RMC education in the world.

I know from my own educational experience that learning up close helps to ignite a spark, creating moments of discovery from which a future can blossom. That spark is hard to catch in large, impersonal lecture halls, but it is practically organic in the kinds of small group and one-on-one interactions that Randolph-Macon provides. I cannot wait to roll up my sleeves and be part of them.

To all of you who are part of nearly two centuries of Yellow Jackets who have made Randolph-Macon what it is today – thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you!

If you’re just visiting our site, explore and enjoy. We invite you to be part of a transformative community – an education that knows no bounds.

Welcome to Randolph-Macon College,

Dr. Michael E. Hill
President
