Once you receive your financial aid award letter simply click the appropriate box below to see your next steps.

It is critical to follow all of the necessary actions to insure that your financial aid is credited to the R-MC Business Office in a timely manner. It is expected that you will resolve your account balance prior to enrolling. You may always contact the Financial Aid Office at 804.752.7259 if you have questions.

Need Based Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form required to apply for financial aid. Apply online by visiting the FAFSA website. Our Federal Title IV Code is 003733. Register for the FSA ID at their website to sign your FAFSA online. Both the student and at least one parent must have a FSA ID and sign the FAFSA. You must be in Internet Explorer to set up the FSA ID but once you have the FSA ID you may use any internet browser to access your account.

There is no cost for submitting this form online. Based on the information you supply, the FAFSA will determine your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

Once we have the results of your FAFSA, a financial aid package can be prepared and offered. Financial aid award letters are mailed beginning in December for entering students and in May for returning students. FAFSA results (requests for financial aid) received after the priority deadlines (March 1 - entering students; February 24 - returning students) will be handled on a funds-available basis.

If your application for financial aid is selected by the Federal Processor for verification, you will need to submit certain required documents. Your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) lets you know if your record has been selected for verification. You will receive notice from us of the specific documents required.

To learn more about the financial aid process, visit the Federal Student Aid website; or feel free to contact us.

Re-evaluation of Need-based Aid

The Financial Aid Office recognizes that some families experience changes that are not reflected on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Should you wish the Financial Aid Office to re-review your request for financial aid you must complete the Re-Evaluation of Financial Aid in our Forms Bank. You also must submit all relevant documentation along with the form. We will not review your re-evaluation without your FAFSA results.

Non-Need Based Aid
