Bethany Carlson is a visiting instructor in Classics at Randolph-Macon for the 2016-2017 academic year. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from the University of South Carolina, where she studied Philosophy, Latin, and English Literature. She taught Latin at USC from 2006-2009 and began teaching at Randolph-Macon in 2016.

Carlson’s academic interests include the influence of Greek and Roman literature on British authors of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century.
