The Biology Department occupies the first floor of the Copley Science Center, which houses two large lecture halls and 14 teaching and research laboratories.

The facility also contains a fully equipped dark room, herbarium room, greenhouse, small mammal room, and media prep and chemical storage area.

The biology laboratories are filled with modern equipment, much of which is rarely found in undergraduate biology programs. For example, the Department has full facilities for scanning and transmission electron microscopy, various research microscopes, and photomicrographic accessories.

Other equipment available for student use includes:
autoclaves, hot air sterilizers, environmental chambers, electrophoresis equipment, EKG machine, recording spectrophotometer, and various ecological sampling devices.
