Residence Life Facilities Intern


Department: Office of Residence Life

Position: Office Assistant

Reports to: Coordinator of Residence Life

The Residence Life Facilities Intern will assist with the development and management of all initiatives in the Student Engagement Center relating to residential facilities including but not limited to residence hall work orders, room checks, and the Housing Lottery. This position is 10 hours per week, and it is not for academic credit. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Follow up on residence hall work orders and maintenance issues .
  2. Assist with the Housing Lottery.
  3. Conduct room checks when students move out or are reassigned rooms.
  4. Assist with check-in packets.
  5. Follow up on residence life online forms.
  6. Maintain the SEC Kitchen by keeping the area clean and tidy, organizing cabinets, and discarding any out of date perishable items.
  7. Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

The majority of the duties of this position are performed under normal office conditions, however, this job does require that the intern be able to work weekends, evenings and flex periods. The Intern must be able to work outside for extended periods of time and will be required to traverse uneven ground in unpaved, undeveloped areas. The Intern will interact with professional colleagues, students, parents of students, alumni, College volunteer groups and off-campus agencies. 1/17
