Randolph-Macon College, Macon day callerYellow Jacket Pride Shines on Macon Day

On November 9, 2017, Randolph-Macon held its fifth-annual Macon Day, raising more than $280,000 from a record-breaking 1,198 donors in 24 hours.  A core group of over 200 volunteers—including members of the Board of Trustees, Board of Associates, Society of Alumni Board, Young Alumni Board, Class Agent Program and Yellow Jacket Board—worked together to spread the word about Macon Day.

The funds received on Macon Day directly support key areas of the college, including THE RANDOLPH-MACON FUND and Yellow Jacket Club.

Rick Golembeski '96, director of annual giving and alumni relations, says the success of Macon Day was made possible by the generosity of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of Randolph-Macon.

“Macon Day was an opportunity for donors to rally together and show their Yellow Jacket spirit a few days before The Game,” says Golembeski. "It’s not only a day of giving, but an opportunity to celebrate and participate in all the all the great things happening at the college, such as our Entrepreneur Awards and Friends of Basketball Dinner. We are thrilled that parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students embraced the call to action by volunteering to reach out to peers and classmates, widening the circle of giving, and spreading Yellow Jacket pride. We are grateful to everyone who participated in this very special day."
