Funding for Study Abroad

Randolph-Macon strives to keep the cost of study abroad reasonable so that as many qualified students as possible can take advantage of these outstanding opportunities. There are also numerous sources of funding for study abroad. Some scholarships are awarded by Randolph-Macon College, and many more are funded through outside sources

J-term travelers are eligible for R-MC's need-based J-term scholarships, the Meade Family Scholarship, the Gilman Scholarship (if the course meets certain criteria), and possibly others. 

Students going abroad for a semester or academic year have more options. The following pages are a great place to start, but by no means exhaustive. Program providers such as ISEP and USAC offer scholarships, and USAC offers great tips for writing scholarship applications.

Money is out there, but you do have to apply for it. Do some research, tell your story in a compelling way, and pay attention to deadlines!
