Captains, Crews, and Fleets

Some Colleges Have Orientation Leaders. R-MC has New Student Transition Captains Because It's About More Than Orientation!

Captains Group

Captains:

The Captains are year-long sources of support for new students at R-MC. Captains work collaboratively to welcome, orient and help students navigate their transition to R-MC.

Captains Seaworthy fun

What Captains Do:

  • Serve as a resource, create programming, and facilitate reflections that help support a successful transition into R-MC and college life.
  • Guide students through their transition which will begin prior to their arrival to R-MC and conclude with their arrival for the second year.
  • Commit to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for all new students and their guests.
  • Show integrity and respect in their positions as role models and mentors.
Crew at move-in

Every Captain Has A Crew:

A Crew is a group of new students with the same Captain. Every new student is part of a Crew that will have meetings, workshops, and social activities throughout the first year. Students meet their crew on move-in day!

Five Crews Make A Fleet:

Fleets are for fun and ensure opportunities for students to meet people outside of their Crew - especially in those first few weeks at R-MC.

Barclay's Barnacles
Blackwell's Beard
