Student Profile: Stephany Garcia
Playing varsity soccer for Randolph Macon has been the greatest experience I’ve ever had. I have just loved being part of that team. Coming in as an international student from Colombia, I knew no one. But the girls on the team were there for me, and I have developed friendships I will have the rest of my life.
I played soccer back in high school, and in college I found I could continue my passion for it. But I also wanted to succeed academically and maintain a 4.0 grade point average. I’ve had the chance to study different subjects here and discover I want to major in business and economics with a minor in chemistry and math. I also like participating in the Women’s Athletic Outreach Organization where I have the opportunity to encourage young girls to get involved in athletics, as I have done.
There are many opportunities at Randolph Macon to gain valuable experience, do important things and enjoy relationships with special people. I have learned a lot about self discipline and how to balance sports with academics and other activities I’m involved in. You really get to follow your passions when you come to a school like this.
