A four-year plan for career success: The R-MC EDGE
The Randolph-Macon EDGE prepares students for their futures beyond R-MC. The core service of the Center for Personal and Career Development, the EDGE takes a comprehensive approach to educating students about their choices after graduation and assisting them in preparing for those choices.
With the support of faculty, career coaches, alumni and staff, students are encouraged to focus on their personal and academic ambitions and take a year-by-year approach to planning for their futures:
- Freshmen explore vocational interests and academic programs through self-assessment, the FYE curriculum and unpaid internships and shadowing.
- Sophomores discern their major with further internships and affirm their career passion, assisted by the Center for Personal and Career development's pre-professional coaching staff.
- Juniors galvanize their career pathways by preparing for graduate school or employment applications, and they develop the interpersonal competencies and confidence necessary for upcoming school and job interviews.
- Seniors execute their individualized plans for success.
