Randolph-Macon College has a unique Commuter Life Program including a Commuter Student Association which works specifically with commuter students using the Commuter Lounge, in the Brown Campus Center, as a base. Commuter life is enhanced by social and educational programs designed to strengthen this community. The Commuter Student Association works as a liason between commuter students and College administrators.
Services:
Commuter Student Orientation - A special orientation designed to connect our commuter population with our community each August.
Commuter Student Association - Meets twice a month in the Commuter Lounge in the Brown Campus Center.
Commuter Student Programs - The Commuter Student Association hosts social programs for commuters including movie trips, dinners, etc.
Commuter Lockers - Don't lug all those books around. We'll provide you with a locker. See Sarah Hamby in the Office of Student Life
Commuter Lounge - Located on the second floor of the Brown Campus Center. Provides a space for commuter students to study and relax. Offers amenities including a coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave, computer and printer.
Commuter Meal Plan - There is a meal plan designed specifically for commuter students, just ask when registering for the school year.
Quick Tips on Being a Commuter at R-MC:
Find a carpool in order to save on gas
Think about staying for events later in the day rather than just going home
Get active with campus life by joining an organization or club
Find a job on campus to fill the time gaps in between classes
Enjoy the atmosphere of the commuter lounge
Take advantage of all of the opportunities available to you at Randolph-Macon College, such as the Brock Center
Commuter lockers are available for free for those who do not want to lug heavy books around all day
Remember: Being active allows you to meet different people and build a strong network!
