The Financial Aid Office at R-MC has compiled a list of loan resources for your convenience. Always make sure you know what you are borrowing and who your lender is and how to contact them.

  • Bureau of Labor Statistics 
    This website helps estimate starting salaries for various careers. Making sure your future career can support your loan payments is important when planning for college.
  • Mapping your Future – Debt Wizard Calculator
    The Debt Wizard Calculator helps students determine how much student loan debt you can manage based on your starting salary upon graduation. Student loan payments should be 10-15% or less of a student’s net monthly income after graduation.
  • National Student Loan Database (NSLDS)
    The National Student Loan Database allows federal loan borrowers to access up to date information on all of their federal loans. Students can view total indebtedness, servicer information and the current loan status.
  • Understanding your FICO score 
    Your FICO score is based on information included in your credit report. It is important to make sure all information in your credit report is accurate when applying for a parent PLUS or private loan.
  • Student Loan Borrower Assistance 
    The Student Loan Borrower Assistance Project is a resource for student loan borrowers, their families and advocates who want to know more information on their rights and responsibilities as a borrower.
  • Direct Loans Website 
    The federal Direct Loan website has a wealth of information on student loans including deferment, repayment, cancelation and consolidation options on federal student loans.
  • StudentLoans.gov 
    Complete eMPN (Master Promissory Notes) and entrance counseling for Federal Direct student Loans. Parents can also apply for Federal PLUS loan on this website.
