You Are Here
Parents are partners in educational achievement, and your role is critical to the success of your student. Here are just a few of the many ways you can be involved:
- Talk to your student about classes and study habits. Tips for having this conversation can be found by clicking on Study Habits.
- Encourage your student to talk to his/her advisor and staff at the Career Center early and often about career aspirations.
- Some students struggle from time to time during their college experience. Randolph-Macon has a number of resources to help students through these periods. Be sure you know what these are so you can advise your student how to take advantage of these resources.
- Come to R-MC to enjoy the tremendous variety of campus events and activities, or meet your Yellow Jacket on the road. There are many programs to attend, including theatrical productions, lectures, concerts and athletics events. Check our homepage www.rmc.edu and athletics Web site at http://www.rmcathletics.com/ for the latest news and updates on happenings at R-MC.
- Show your support through a gift to the Parents Fund. Tuition covers only a portion of the educational expense for each student. The college counts on support from alumni, trustees, friends, corporations, foundations – and parents. Please know that a gift of any size means a great deal and can have a positive impact.
- Our tradition in the liberal arts and sciences prepares students for real-life success. Several top-notch programs offer students the opportunity to see first-hand the intersections of classroom learning and applications in the broader world. They include Internships, Study Abroad, Undergraduate Research, and First-Year Experience.
Please refer to the listing on the left for more information about resources for parents that are available at Randolph-Macon College.
