Residence Life is comprised of two types of staff: Resident Assistants and professional staff. Each hall has a Resident Assistant (RA) who, like you, is a student. It is their responsibility to build relationships, provide information to residents, plan activities and see that hall regulations are upheld. There are always at least two RA's on duty on campus. RAs act on behalf of the College and are therefore College Officials when acting in their RA role. RAs have jurisdiction over the Campus; however not in Greek Housing facilities.
Full time professionals in the Office of Residence Life and Housing, supervise the RA's and are responsible for the total operation of the residence hall community. This includes supervising staff, advising and counseling students and groups, coordinating hall programs and administering College policies. Professional staff members live on or near campus. There is always a professional staff member on call and available 24 hours a day.
