What is special interest housing?
2007-2008 Special Interest Housing
During the academic year 2007-2008 there will be four special interest housing programs. There was a committee made up of professional staff and students who evaluated the programs and assigned spaces for the groups to live and fulfill their program goals. The Coordinator of Residence Life & Housing and the Special Interest RA will oversee the groups, meet monthly with a contact person from each group, do safety and security inspections of the residences, assist with Physical Plant requests, and make sure that the groups continue to be connected with the RMC community in terms of information regarding events, school breaks protocol, general student body information, etc... InterVarsity Houseous
The InterVarsity house will serve as a meeting space for the InterVarsity group as well as giving the students living there the opportunity to live out the values of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in their daily lives. This house will help the members of InterVarsity to carry out one of their core values: to show their love for God, the Randolph-Macon Campus Community, and the community at large.
Theatre House
The Theater House will offer students a way to continue the collaboration that they use in their craft in the residence. The Theater House is attempting to expand community knowledge of the work of the theater department and allowing those with theater interests to connect. The group will also raise funds for the theater department and outside charities as well, including Relay for Life, The Arc, and Free Arts NYC. They will also work to form connections between current students and alumni of the college through presentations and dinners.
International House
The International House will provide necessary living accommodations to incoming international students. Along with providing these accommodations, the house will also offer American students a place to create diverse ties with the international students. By creating a close residential atmosphere between students, we will provide a unique living learning experience. The house wishes to increase diversity and international understanding on the campus through programming at the house that is open to non-residents.

Brothers for Change
This house will serve as an extension of the group Brothers For Change and therefore those living here will exude the mission of that group. The living experience will help to provide a group of hard working young men a central location from which to operate. Brothers For Change hopes to encourage diversity, promote leadership, and teaching responsibility through the leaders of the group.
