The College will focus on five goals over the next five-year period. They serve two principal purposes: developing more effectively the mind and character of each student in a climate of academic excellence and initiating the process to become one of the fifty leading independent liberal arts and sciences colleges in the nation. The five goals deal with student quality and campus climate, academic "peaks of excellence," facilities and equipment, marketing, and finance. The goals are presented below, each followed by its rationale, initiatives to attain the goal, metrics to measure progress towards accomplishing the initiatives, and activities to implement the initiatives.
