Finding Subject Encyclopedias & Almanacs
One way to locate subject-based
reference materials is to browse the reference collection in the
call number area(s) assigned to your topic.
All of the reference books in McGraw-Page Library are listed in MaconCat. You can locate reference items in the catalog using a subject or akeyword search, or by title if you know it.
For a subject search, type in a very broad subject discipline or topic as your major heading (i.e. sociology, art, chemistry, philosophy, women, water) and look for the subheadings encyclopedias or dictionaries, which are used for encyclopedias, or look for almanacs or statistics, which are used for almanacs.
