Books and articles not owned by our library can be obtained from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Allow sufficient time for processing. Average turnaround time is 3-5 days for articles and 3-14 days for books, excluding holidays and weekends. Submit ILL requests well in advance of deadlines.

Articles from scholarly and popular sources in all disciplines. Select the "Social Science" or "Education" subject area at the bottom of the search screen to get the most relevant results.
Academic Search Complete (1980-present; some full text)
General database, with many full text journals articles, from both popular (including newspapers) and scholarly sources.
PsycINFO/PsycArticles (1966 to present; abstracts & full text from PsycArticles database)
Produced by the American Psychological Association, this database indexes over 1,900 journals, books and book chapters, and dissertations.
Child Abuse, Child Welfare & Adoption Database (citations; 1965 to present)
Index to a variety of materials on all aspects of child abuse and neglect, child wefare, family violence, foster care, and adoption. Login id = randolph and password = macon
ERIC (some full-text; 1966 to present)
Covers education with research documents, articles, technical reports, program descriptions and evaluations, and curricular materials.
PAIS International and PAIS Archive (1915 to present; citations & abstracts)
PAIS indexes articles, books, book chapters, conference proceedings, government documents, and various other sources in political science, public policy, and international relations.
LexisNexis Academic (dates vary, most 1990s to present ; full-text)
Provides full-text of legal, governmental, business, and general news information; searching under Legal Research and in News sources (particularly National or Regional papers) can be especially useful. Includes international, national, and regional newspapers, newswires, and transcripts of news programs.
