SECTION 7 - MISCELLANEOUS BENEFITS
7.1 Cafeteria
Employees are eligible for reduced meal rates in the Estes Dining Hall, which offers three meals a day during weekdays and two meals a day during weekends while school is in session.
7.2 Snack Bar
The snack bar is located in the Frank E. Brown Campus Center (CX) and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner during weekdays. It maintains regular hours of operation while school is in session.
7.3 Parking
Parking is available on campus, free of charge. However, you must register your vehicle(s) with the Campus Safety Office.
7.4 Library
Subject to the library regulations, employees may use the books and most other resources of the McGraw-Page Library without charge, assuming that books are returned on time. You need only to present your employee identification card to take advantage of this privilege.
7.5 Brock Sports & Recreational Center
Employees and Retirees are encouraged to utilize the Brock Sports & Recreation Center during normal operating hours. An R-MC identification card is required to gain entry into the Brock Center and may be obtained at the Office of Campus Safety. An employee's/retiree's spouse and dependent children (15-23) are also eligible to utilize the Brock Center and may obtain an R-MC identification card. Children under the age of 15 do not receive an identification card and must be accompanied, and directly supervised by an adult (17 years or older).
7.6 Computer Facilities
The resources of the Office of Information and Technology Services (ITS) are available to you for purposes related to your work, subject to ITS guidelines.
7.7 Cultural, Social, and Athletic Events
As an employee of Randolph-Macon College, you may take advantage of many of the same extracurricular opportunities available to its students and faculty.
7.8 Admission to Concerts, Plays, and Other Special Events
Each year the College offers a large variety of special events that you may attend free of charge or at reduced rates. Previous events have included jazz and classical music concerts, folk music, comedians, plays performed by the student Drama Guild, and guest speakers giving talks on a wide variety of subjects. The College hopes that you will take advantage of these opportunities for enjoyment and personal enrichment.
7.9 Admission to Varsity and Sports Events
The College has a tradition of excellence in athletics as well as academics, and your support for Randolph-Macon athletics is welcomed. Admission to athletic events for employees and their family members is free upon presentation of the employee's College identification card.
7.10 Participation in Intramural Sports
Intramural sports exist for your benefit as well as that of the students and faculty. These activities offer a unique opportunity for people of different ages and occupations to play as well as work together. The College hopes that you will join an existing staff team or form a new one. There is no charge, and the only requirement is your desire to take a greater part in the College community. Normally, your participation will be after work hours.
7.11 Bookstore Discounts
The College Bookstore, located in the Brown Campus Center, offers discounts on books to employees upon presentation of their College identification card.
7.12 Uniforms
Designated members of the Physical Plant staff and Campus Safety officers receive uniforms free of charge.
7.13 Virginia Credit Union
All employees are eligible to join the Virginia Credit Union, which offers competitive rates on loans and savings. Loans may by repaid, or savings may be accumulated, through automatic payroll deductions. The Office of Human Resources can provide you with details.
