Services for Students
Media Equipment Checkout
Students should have a faculty/staff sponsor for borrowing equipment for class projects and student organizations, with priority given to the former. Digital camera and camcorders are most popular although other equipment is also available. Students should come to the Media & Instructional Support in the Library to reserve and sign out equipment.
Preparing Digital Images
Whether the images are lifted from the internet or scanned by yourself, they sometimes can be difficult to use -- for being too blurry or taking too much disk space. And what about making your own collage or adding captions to a memorable picture? Come and see us -- we teach you how to touch up and modify graphics to suit your needs. (See Office Locations & Hours).
Making Digital Videos
It's fun, and it's easy! With the right equipment (and some help from us), you can make a video that can be almost as good as those done by professionals. For school work, digital video can be a powerful tool for telling stories or making arguments. Before you start, however, talk to our staff at Media & Instructional Support (Library) or Instructional Technology (Thomas Branch Room 137). A brief consultation will save you a lot of time down the road. (See Office Locations & Hours). You may also find these helpful:
