The Instruction area of the HAC houses the College's mentoring program. The following information will guide you through the program and tell you how to secure a mentor.

Common Reasons Why You Might Want a Mentor:

	You're not making an easy adjustment from high school to R-MC
	You're homesick
	You're feeling overwhelmed
	You don't know who to ask about things you don't understand
	You don't know how to study
	You're not sure what organizations or clubs to join-or if you should
	You're on Macon Academic Progress (Deans' Probation)
	You're a B student, but you want more A's
	You have some personal problems
	You're having trouble managing your time
	You're a transfer student
	Other reasons

How to request a Mentor:

Mentors are available FREE to any R-MC student who requests one. Mentors are bound by
strict confidentiality guidelines. If you think you would like to have a mentor, please contact
Dr. Jenny Bruce at the HAC. jbruce@rmc.edu or x3201.

Would YOU like to be a Mentor:

The HAC hires mentors in April for the following academic year. If you are a rising sophomore,
junior or senior, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, have figured out how to be successful at R-MC
and want to help others, please consider applying. Mentors work an average of 2-5 hours per
week. The pay is $6.00 per hour. The application form is available by clicking on the link below. If you have any questions about a position, please contact Jenny Bruce.
