The Center for Counseling Services strives to foster the holistic development of students in the Randolph-Macon community. The Center seeks to be a bridge between the theoretical world of academe and the psycho-social life of students beyond the classroom. Through the therapeutic process students are assisted in clarifying their values, interests, and life goals as they concurrently work to increase their levels of self-determination, goal directedness, and independent functioning. The Center endeavors to promote the development of the whole, mature student while supporting the mission of the College.
Counseling Services offers personal counseling to all students. Services include individual personal counseling, group counseling, consultation, and referral services when deemed appropriate or preferred by the student. Counseling Services also provides workshops on a variety of topics, online mental health screenings, and alcohol/drug education classes.
Brief consultations and referrals are available to faculty and staff.
Clinical staff follow the legal and ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association for professional behavior and confidentiality. Dr. Craig Anderson, Dr. Beth Schubert, and Dr. Dusti Sisk-Fandrich, provide counseling services.
