Counseling Services strives to foster student development in the Randolph-Macon community. Specifically, programs and services are designed to support self-identity and interpersonal growth. Through a variety of programmatic efforts, students are assisted as they seek to define their values and interests and endeavor to increase their level of autonomy and competence in both personal and career goals. Counseling Services strives to be a bridge between the theoretical world of academe and applied settings beyond the classroom. Counseling Services participates in the development of the student while supporting the mission of the College.
Counseling Services offer personal counseling to all students. Services include individual personal counseling, group counseling, consultation, and referral services when deemed appropriate or preferred by the student. Counseling Services also provide workshops on a variety of personal topics and alcohol/drug education classes. Referrals and brief consultations are also available to faculty and staff. Clinical staff follow the legal and ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association for professional behavior and confidentiality. Dr. Craig Anderson, Dr. Beth Schubert, and Dr. Dusti Sisk-Fandrich, provide counseling services.
