Office of the Chaplain

The mission of the Office of the Chaplain is to support students in their search for meaning and purpose in the context of a fuller understanding of God, themselves, their fellow human beings, the world and their place in it through programs of religious life, service learning and social justice.

  • Religious Life student groups join together in the R-MC Campus Ministry Council.  Each group has a student and a faculty/staff representative.  Together we plan campus-wide worship services, community service opportunities, and Alternative Spring Break Trips.
  • The Office of the Chaplain organizes Interfaith Experiences each semester.  These are opportunities to hear speakers, experience religious traditions, see photos or even taste food from traditions other than the one into which we were born.
  • Friday Prayers is a weekly Christian gathering of faculty, staff, and students for centering prayer.  This is a quiet, reflective time that helps us step outside of our busy academic and social schedules, focusing on our spiritual life.  Join us weekly in the Topping Room at 12:30 p.m.
  • Service Saturdays are events planned by the Chaplain's Office to create opportunities to come together (individuals and student groups) for projects that make a difference in our community.
  • The Chaplain is available for pastoral care. Call (x. 7374) or email (kendragrimes@rmc.edu) to set up an appointment or drop by the Office of the Chaplain in Peele Hall, 2nd Floor.
  • If you are looking for a church or faith community to attend while living at R-MC please contact our office.  We will strive to help you find a community that is a good fit for you.
