Student Organizations
Participation in a student organization is another way students can learn skills that can be applied to the workplace. Student organization membership should expose the student to leadership principles, conflict management, tolerance for other ideals, and opportunities to improve communication skills among other benefits. Membership in an organization should also be fun.
It is up to the student to take advantage of the opportunities available. It is up to the student organization's student leaders and advisor to make sure that the organization has set goals and is striving to achieve them in a manner that involves everyone in the organization.
Organizations include departmental organizations such as the Business/Economics club, language clubs, philosophy clubs, and political science associations to name a few. Also Greek and Honorary organizations, International Interest Groups, Professional Associations, Publications/Communication, Religious and Social Service Groups and Special Interest groups.
