Welcome to the EDGE, a four-year program, provided through the Center for Career and Personal Development, that prepares every Randolph-Macon College student with a competitive edge for the job market or graduate-school admissions. Whatever your plans for the future, the EDGE provides you the strategies for a lifetime of success.

Seniors are strongly encouraged to sign up for our No-Panic Senior Seminar Series.
Explore the possiblities - In their freshman year, all Randolph-Macon students:
- Attend an EDGE Orientation
- Complete a self-assessment of interests, values and perceived skills
- Learn how to create an effective resume
- Begin to document their learning, leadership and service experiences
- Are introduced to the R-MC alumni network through planned networking events
- Are encouraged to participate in a volunteer or non-paid summer internship program in an area of interest
Discern your pathway - As sophomores, all students:
- Select a major
- May participate in The EDGE Career Boot Camp, a 48-hour off-campus program focused on interview & communication skills, business etiquette, networking strategies and professional presentation
- Develop mentors and resource contacts by attending a minimum of two alumni-networking events
- Are encouaged to consider opportunities for summer paid internships and field study
- May choose to begin pre-requisite analysis and application process for early-accceptance graduate programs
Galvanize your vision – As juniors, students:
- Fine-tune resumes
- Complete a videotaped interview session, with feedback, to improve presentation skills
- Consider pursuing a Bassett Internship for academic credit
- Implement GPA improvement strategies if needed
- Complete pre-test preparation in first semester if considering graduate school
Execute your plan - Preparing for a smooth transition to post-graduation life, seniors:
- Rehearse and revise interview strategies
- Revise and complete resumes
- Refine networking circles
- Mentor sophomores in the EDGE program
- Are encouraged to pursue an internship in an area of career interest
- Apply for employment and/or graduate school
